The Junkluggers of Vancouver and SE Portland's Owner, Martin Danker
Martin and Claudia Danker grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico and moved to Beaverton, OR when Martin transferred to the U.S. while working for Nike Inc. Both Martin and Claudia studied at Jesuit University, with Martin getting a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Software Engineering and Claudia a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and an MBA in Marketing.
Martin spent a total of 28 years working for Nike in Sales Planning and Operations. His last role was for Showrooms and Samples Ops for the Asia Pacific and Latin America. While in Mexico, Claudia worked as an MBA teacher at ITESO, Jesuit University of Guadalajara. After moving to the U.S., she worked as a paraeducator for the West Linn Wilsonville school district.
When Martin and Claudia arrived in the U.S. 13 years ago, they said they were welcomed with open arms and the community grew to become a key part of their lives. With a multicultural environment, neighbors who are always there for one another, nature lovers, great food, and craft beer, they said there is plenty to love about Beaverton!
The Junkluggers focus on donating, recycling, and repurposing unwanted items will create a positive impact on their community, reducing landfill waste and creating a cleaner environment overall. Martin and Claudia are excited to support their community by donating to local charities in need and delivering a premium customer experience.
Claudia likes to spend her free time riding her bicycle and boxing while Martin enjoys playing golf. Together they like to hike with their rescue dog, Sokka. They also have two children, Arturo and Andrea.
